Harrods

I just love this dress, specifically, the zebra fabric and silhouette. Again, its my favourite cute dress shape but made even better with the addition of a one shoulder bodice, and cut very well. The fabric is beautiful, not only is it a bold zebra print, its also distressed, a distressed zebra, if you will. Distressed fabrics are lovely in my books, and I have make it my mission to recreate this dress, without the tropical themes emanating from behind, that's a bit too colourful for me to wear.

This was an off the shoulder leather jacket,

I don't know what it was about it,

but it just looked so rounded and soft,

very feminine.

The majesty of this dress is phenomenal, the layers of voluminous fabric give it a great figure, which unfortunately my camera couldn't pick up. But you can still see the pleating and metallic sheen to the fabric.

This dress stood out to be very sculptural, with the flowing bodice and layered ruffles for the skirt seem to convey the imagery of water.

I really enjoyed myself at Harrods, there were a lot of exciting designer collections and beautiful garments, however, we did find that we ended up walking in circles a lot, also the amount of real fur used was quite shocking and saddening.

I love the lettering on this jumper, it's so bold and majestic.

The silhouette and layering drew me to this dress, the layers of similar fabrics were mostly left raw, with some being hemmed, this is so interesting to me and I think it was executed beautifully.

This is a print on a jersey top, I found it intriguing since it resembled pebbles or fallen leaves, giving it a very organic appearance.

I photographed this for the shape, it's short hemline and hourglass figure make it very cute and this appeals to me, I love this shape of dress, but I'm not sure if I would have the confidence to wear something this short.

Debanhams in London was quite a lovely shop, not particularly exciting, but never the less, I did enjoy it. It was easy to navigate, spacious and light, the clothes were attractive but not high end so felt quite refined. It was also a welcome refuge from the British weather.

Sketchbook: Introdution

This is my subculture sketchbook for which I will be featuring my subculture, goth, and a few themes that exist under the goth umbrella, including: steampunk, Victorian, pastel, punk, and my own style.

This page sits between Victorian and Steampunk, these two themes are very similar and share several elements, but this page is mostly steampunk dominated. I used images of the cakes since they were the perfect summary of lots of different steampunk techniques and embellishments in terms of clothing.

Sketchbook: Muse

Here I have started to think about my muse, I found this Polish model on Instagram under the name of egoisticcat, though her name is Sygin. This model has appeared on the feed of Restyle, a gothic brand of clothing. I did the same boot, plastic bag and paper collage background and cut out my model's clothes to show the background as her clothes, some of these didn't work out as well as I had hoped.

Sketchbook: Personal Goth

These are my collages using my own pictures and drawings, for my first collage I photocopied one of the boots I was wearing by pressing it against the glass to spread the boot out. I then sewed jump rings and beads into the paper and threaded embroidery thread through the rings to create a corset type pattern. I used black and red threads in different configurations to give different effects.

For this I tore and layered pieces of my boot photocopy then made a simple stencil of an illustration featuring a coat, the coat was cut out to show the boot texture underneath.

This page features black paper and black plastic bags to make a dark background with the contrast in textures of the plastic and the paper. I layered pictures of my legs and some of my own illustrations including a jacket I really want to make; and a mouth full of teeth, since this is a recurring theme for me and I use a lot of spikes and teeth in my designs.

Sketchbook: Own Pictures, continuation of pastel goth

These are some images of one of my alternative friends, though her style isn't perfectly pastel goth she is still noticeably cute yet alternative. She was wearing an oversized fuzzy pink jumper on this day which is common for the pastel goth style. Alternative and goth people will often have brightly coloured hair to express difference.

Sketchbook: Pastel

Pastel goth came about as inspiration from Japanese street style, it merges themes of goth with pastel colours and elements of Lolita. Pastel goth most often features bows, oversized jumpers, kawaii characters and gothic imagery such as inverted crosses.

The idea is to look creepy but cute.
